Tracking Pinterest with Event Tracking in Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager.
This trigger will help us to understand whether people are interested to share our blog on pinterest. This data will really help us to track the total number of clicks which is coming from pinterest source. So let us see the steps to be configured in GTM.
- Create a tag and name it as Pinterest Event Tracking
- Select tag type Google Analytics
- Select track type Event
- Give the category name
- Give the condition name in Action
- Give the Label name Landing page
- Select the default Variable in GA Settings
- Create a trigger and name it as Pinterest event tracking
- Select the trigger type Clicks-Just links
- Select the conditions this trigger fires on Click URL contains Pinterest
- Save both the tags and triggers and check in preview mode
- If working fine, then push it to live and same check in GA Real time data
